--Apple has overcome Covid-19-related disruptions to be able to begin initial manufacturing of its 5G iPhones in mid-September, weeks behind its usual schedule for new phones, Nikkei Asia Review reports, citing unnamed sources.

--With mass production expected to begin in late September or early October instead of August, the company could produce 73 million to 74 million iPhones this year, short of the 80 million phones for which it ordered components, according to two sources with knowledge of the matter.

--The remainder of Apple's planned production could be pushed into early 2021, Nikkei says.
