On January 24, 2024, Applied Materials, Inc announced that it has received a shareholder proposal from Arjuna Capital, on behalf of Ronald Strom and Catherine Pascal, requesting the Company to report on both quantitative median and adjusted pay gaps across race and gender, including associated policy, reputational, competitive, and operational risks, and risks related to recruiting and retaining diverse talent. The report should be prepared at reasonable cost, omitting proprietary information, litigation strategy and legal compliance information. In addition, the Company urged the shareholders to vote against the proposal at its annual general meeting of shareholders scheduled to be held on March 7, 2024.
