ArborGen Holdings announced that, in compliance with the New Zealand Government's Level 4 Alert status, its nursery operations in New Zealand would be closing from 25 March, 2020 midnight. Although these operations are deemed to be non-essential understrict Ministry for Primary Industries "Safe Practice" conditions, the company will continue to undertake permitted necessary activities critical to ensure the survival and viability of the current year's crop, such as irrigation. Crop lifting for the NZ season does not begin until May, which is after the planned expiry of the current country-wide `lock-down' situation.
