MCLEAN, Va. (AP) _ Arlington Asset Investment Corp. (AAIC) on Monday reported third-quarter net income of $3.4 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the McLean, Virginia-based company said it had profit of 10 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 11 cents per share.

The investment company posted revenue of $12.4 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $6.4 million.

In the final minutes of trading on Monday, the company's shares hit $3.17. A year ago, they were trading at $3.82.
