STOCKHOLM, Nov 2 (Reuters) - Swedish industrial group Atlas Copco said on Wednesday it would invest in a new plant in the United States for dry vacuum pumps used in manufacturing semiconductors.

The investment would total $319 million over the next seven years, it said in a statement.

"Phase one will be a $127 project to construct a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility of approximately 240,000 square feet (22,000 square metres)," it said. (Reporting by Anna Ringstrom, editing by Essi Lehto)
