AutoZone, Inc. reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended February 10, 2024. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was USD 3,859.13 million compared to USD 3,690.98 million a year ago. Net income was USD 515.03 million compared to USD 476.54 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 29.74 compared to USD 25.48 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 28.89 compared to USD 24.64 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was USD 8,049.4 million compared to USD 7,676.05 million a year ago. Net income was USD 1,108.49 million compared to USD 1,015.86 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 63.29 compared to USD 53.87 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 61.48 compared to USD 52.12 a year ago.
AutoZone, Inc. specializes in distributing automotive spare parts and accessories. The group offers compressors, batteries, carburetors, clutches, des rotors, des motors, fuel pumps, etc. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- retail and professional distribution (98.2%): sale of spare parts primarily to garages and service stations;
- other (1.8%): sales of diagnostic and maintenance software (name Alldata), and an e-commerce division.
At the end of August 2023, AutoZone, Inc. had a network of 7,140 stores located in the United States and Puerto Rico (6,300), Mexico (740) and Brazil (100).
