LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Axos Financial (AX) on Thursday reported fiscal second-quarter profit of $60.8 million.

On a per-share basis, the Las Vegas-based company said it had net income of $1. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were $1.04 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 98 cents per share.

The bank holding company posted revenue of $187.9 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $176.4 million, which did not meet Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $177.9 million.

Axos Financial shares have declined 10% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $50.26, a climb of 28% in the last 12 months.
