Bakkavor Group, the leading provider of fresh prepared food, is once again demonstrating its commitment to Early Careers opportunities by welcoming over 50 new young starters this month as part of its 'grow your own' people strategy.

The Group has recruited 12 graduates and 39 apprentices who will be based across a number of UK sites in specialist roles to support the business's future growth.

The graduates are joining Bakkavor's Commercial, Development, Finance, HR, Manufacturing and Technical functions and will complete placements in different business units, being actively involved in live jobs from day one, whilst being guided through a tailored leadership training programme.

The apprentices are starting higher or advanced apprenticeships in specialisms such as Engineering, Finance, HR, Hygiene, Learning & Development, Manufacturing, Process Technology, Product Development, SHE (Safety Health & Environment), Supply Chain and Warehouse & Logistics. They will be based at sites across the UK including London, Lincolnshire, Cheshire, Somerset and West Lothian.

Earlier this year, Bakkavor was recognised for its Apprentice and Graduate Early Careers programmes.

TheJobCrowd is the UK's only graduate and apprentice employer ranking system based on employee feedback. In its annual survey Bakkavor was voted as one of the top 50 companies for Apprentices and Graduates to work for and was the overall winner for Apprentices in the Consumer Goods & FMCG industry sector, with its Graduate programme also taking 2nd place in this category.

Food Management Today has also commended Bakkavor on its Graduate Programme, with Bakkavor reaching a Finalist position for the Best Training Initiative at its Food Management Today awards.

Bakkavor also celebrates the achievements of all its graduates and apprentices at a prestigious annual awards ceremony, with a number of awards presented and voted for by Bakkavor's senior management team, underpinning the importance of the programmes to the Group.

Donna-Maria Lee, Chief People Officer at Bakkavor, said:

'We're delighted to welcome a new intake of graduates and apprentices to Bakkavor as part of our commitment to Early Careers. As a Group we firmly believe that our future growth depends on the talent we attract, develop and support so that we can maintain and strengthen our leading position in one of the most dynamic food markets in the world.'

The 2021 Early Careers programmes will be open for applications later this year.
