MONTE DEI PASCHI DI SIENA: NEW ORGANISATIONAL SET-UP FOR THE ACHIEVEMENT

OF THE STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES OF THE BUSINESS PLAN 2022-2026

Siena, 23 June 2022 - In order to implement the strategic initiatives envisaged in the Business Plan 2022-2026, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.A. ("BMPS") announces the reorganisation of the Chief Commercial Officer Area into three Areas, with the objective to achieve a higher level of specialisation and a tailored-made offering to clients. The new set up will allow for faster and more effective decision-making processes.

Each of the three Areas will be headed by internal managers, with strong commercial competences and a deep knowledge of the local economy and entrepreneurs, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer Luigi Lovaglio:

• COO Retail Area: it will be headed by Pasquale Marchese, in charge of the commercial area of BMPS since 2020, after having covered managerial roles in Poste Italiane and Mediocredito Centrale. The Area will have a specific focus on consumer credit, asset management, bancassurance and digital activities.
• COO Corporates and Private Area: it will be headed by Maurizio Bai, who spent his whole career at BMPS where he covered various roles with increasing responsibilities in the commercial business. Focus of the Area will be the products and markets related to Corporates and Private Banking.
• COO Large Corporate & Investment Banking: it will be headed by Emanuele Scarnati, manager with a significant experience in corporate finance and large corporate and also current General Manager of MPS Capital Services Banca per le Imprese S.p.A. The Area will be focused on Large Corporates and will also have a dedicated structure for investment banking services.

In order to strengthen the control and management of the cost base together with the centralisation of the authorisation processes, as envisaged in the Business Plan, the "Cost Governance" Area has been created and will be under the responsibility of the Chief Financial Officer Andrea Maffezzoni, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
