BTG Pactual to Buy Luxembourg's FIS Privatbank for EUR21.3M

SÃO PAULO--Banco BTG Pactual SA said Friday it agreed to buy 100% of Luxembourg-based bank FIS Privatbank as part of an effort to boost its international presence.

Brazilian investment bank BTG Pactual said it paid 21.3 million euros, the equivalent of $23.1 million, to buy FIS Privatbank, a specialist in lending and wealth and asset management that currently manages about EUR500 million.

The acquisition is subject to approval by the relevant authorities, and BTG plans to offer its full range of services to FIS clients.
