TORONTO (AP) _ Bank Of Montreal (BMO) on Thursday reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of $3.37 billion.

The bank, based in Toronto, said it had earnings of $4.89 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to $2.28 per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.29 per share.

The bank posted revenue of $11.96 billion in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $7.94 billion, beating Street forecasts.

For the year, the company reported profit of $10.52 billion, or $15.53 per share. Revenue was reported as $26.19 billion.

Bank of Montreal shares have decreased 9% since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 6% in the last 12 months.
