Barker Minerals Ltd. reported that drilling has begun on its 100% owned Frank Creek volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) project. Initial drilling will focus on the 2011 near surface gold discovery area and follow up on precious metal rich VMS targets identified in past programs. The property is located in the Cariboo Mining District of British Columbia approximately 77 km northeast of Williams Lake B.C. and hosts excellent access and infrastructure. FC-13-09 is a planned 200m - 300m hole being drilled within 5 metres from the collar of the shallow FC-11-03 (approximately 48 metre depth) in order to confirm the 2011 gold discovery as well as to test the underlying Titan "Trend C" conductor for massive sulphide mineralization and to provide important geological information in the immediate 2011 gold discovery area.

The focus of the 2013 VMS target drilling is the tracing and testing of near surface to medium depth targets identified from previous exploration programs which exposed a broad zone of VMS footwall alteration associated with base and precious metal mineralization in an overturned geological environment. The high gold grades in the drill holes to date are zoned immediately next to the VMS feeder mineralization which is composed of base and precious metal mineralization similar to other gold rich VMS systems. Frank Creek is also similar to other VMS gold environments in that it is spatially located in the immediate vicinity of historic placer gold operations.
