OJSC Belon announced earnings results for the first half of 2014. For the first half, the company saw its first half net loss widen 130%. The company's sales revenue dropped 22.5% to RUB 5.763 billion, stemming from lower coal concentrate sale volumes and prices and due to sale of the Novobachatsky Open Pit Mine LLC in December 2013, compared with RUB 7.435 million a year ago. Sales losses were RUB 156.905 million against sales profit of RUB 162.398 million a year ago. Pretax losses were RUB 1.676 million against RUB 732.029 million a year ago. Net profit was RUB 1.391 million a year ago. RUB 597.052 million a year ago.

The company's coal production edged down 1.3% in the second quarter of 2014 compared with the first, to 877,000 tonnes, while processing rose 4.1% to 840,000 tones. Concentrate output declined 5.6% to 672,000 tonnes, due to scheduled installation of new equipment at the Kostromovskaya mine and, as a result, an increase in the share of coal production with higher ash content.
