DALLAS (AP) _ Berry Petroleum Corp. (BRY) on Wednesday reported third-quarter earnings of $191.7 million.

The Dallas-based company said it had profit of $2.34 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 55 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 46 cents per share.

The independent upstream energy company posted revenue of $376.4 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $207.1 million.

Berry Petroleum shares have climbed roughly 8% since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 7% in the last 12 months.
