Bharti Airtel has named Badal Bagri chief financial officer of its India and South Asia operations, effective January 16. Bagri will lead Airtel's finance teams across India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and report to Nilanjan Roy, the company's global chief financial officer. This will be Bagri's second stint at Airtel. He had previously worked with the company from 2010 to 2014 in the capacities of chief controller for consumer business and global financial controller. In his last role, he was CFO at Aircel, prior to which he had served as CFO of Micromax. Mandava, who was earlier chief operating officer of Airtel Africa, was recently elevated to the position of MD, while Christian Defaria, who was previously Airtel Africa's executive chairman, was re-designated chairman of Bharti Airtel Intl (Netherlands) BV.
