Uncertain corona times in the Finnish retail industry: But Kodin1 is rowing against the tide. Sales are increasing, and the company will open a new major store in Helsinki. "We will continue to furnish Finland, even in times of crisis," says Christian Eriksson, CEO of Home Furnishing Nordic AB, of which Kodin1 is part.

The retail industry is in crisis in the shadow of corona. But some players are rowing against the tide. One of them is Kodin1, Finland's largest online furniture and interior design store. Kodin1 was acquired in 2016 by Home Furnishing Nordic, which itself is part of the BHG Group, Northern Europe's largest e-retailer in furniture and interior design. Kodin1 is now continuing its journey of success and is set to open its second physical store in Helsinki in the autumn.

"We are really looking forward to opening another new store. Especially as customer demand has been so high. As usual, we will be offering an unbeatable product range for surprisingly low prices with quick delivery straight to the customer's door," says Christian Eriksson.

The new store will be in the Lanterna shopping centre in Roihupelto in Helsinki. The approximately 1,050 square metre showroom will contain a wide selection of furniture, rugs and furnishings from the Kodin1.com online store. The size and location of the new store fits perfectly with the company's current concept, with the store located in a cluster with other players in the same industry.

"Of course, there will be a grand opening to celebrate that we are continuing to build on the long, wonderful tradition of furniture and furnishings that Kodin1 and Finland are known for. Last time, we celebrated with the whole of Espoo, and we are of course hoping to do the same in Helsinki in the autumn," concludes Christian.
