BlackRock Throgmorton Trust plc announced the appointment of Mr. Christopher Samuel as a non-executive Director of the company with effect from 1 June 2016. Mr. Samuel will also serve as a member of the company’s Audit Committee, Nomination Committee and Management Engagement Committee. He was Chief Executive of Ignis Asset Management from 2009 until its sale to Standard Life Investments in 2014. He was previously Chief Operating Officer at Gartmore and Hill Samuel Asset Management and was a partner at Cambridge Place Investment Management. The Board has determined that Mr. Samuel will be considered to be an independent non-executive director of the Company notwithstanding that both he and Mr. Eric Stobart, a non-executive director of the Company and Chairman of the Audit Committee, are also non-executive directors of UIL Limited. Mr. Stobart will also continue to be considered to be an independent non-executive director of the Company.
