Linkcity, Bouygues Construction's real estate development subsidiary, announced on Friday the creation of a planning department to be headed by in-house executive Benoît Gérardin.

The company explains that it has decided to create this new department, which will cover the whole of France, in order to have a global vision of the increasingly complex challenges facing land and urban development.

In his new role, Benoît Gérardin will be responsible for working with all regional departments to promote the company's projects to local authorities and major property owners.

A graduate of Polytechnique and Les Ponts, Benoît Gérardin joined Bouygues Bâtiment Grand-Ouest in 2008, as sales manager for public and private partnerships.

He then joined Linkcity as head of business development for operations in the Greater West of France, before being appointed director of urban projects in the North-East, then in Ile-de-France.

In his new position, he will join Linkcity France's Executive Committee (ComEx).
