TORONTO (AP) _ Brookfield Asset Management Inc. (BAM) on Thursday reported second-quarter profit of $590 million.

On a per-share basis, the Toronto-based company said it had profit of 34 cents.

The asset management company posted revenue of $23.26 billion in the period.

Brookfield Asset Management shares have declined 12% since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 7.5% in the last 12 months.
