C.P. Lotus Corporation announced consolidated earnings results for the full year ended December 31, 2016. For the year, the company reported revenue of RMB 10,085,679,000 compared with RMB 10,660,452,000 for the same period a year ago. Loss from operations was RMB 431,928,000 compared with profit of RMB 73,930,000 for the same period a year ago. Loss before taxation was RMB 514,711,000 compared with profit of RMB 153,000 for the same period a year ago. Los for the year attributable to equity shareholders of the company was RMB 537,587,000 compared with RMB 17,958,000 for the same period a year ago. Diluted loss per share was 2.41 cents compared with 0.08 cents for the same period a year ago. Revenue fell by RMB 574.7 million or 5.4%. The reduction was due to the fact that the revenue generated by three new stores opened in 2016 was not enough to offset the 8.2% reduction in same store sales which was a result of the continued easing of the economy, the government's anti-waste campaign and the intensified competition from online retailers. All categories recorded a reduction in sales compared to the previous year. Net cash inflow after effect of foreign exchange rate changes was RMB 21.1 million compared with RMB 25.7 million for the same period a year ago.
