TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) _ Carvana Co. (CVNA) on Thursday reported a loss of $7.1 million in its third quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Tempe, Arizona-based company said it had a loss of 10 cents.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 30 cents per share.

The company posted revenue of $1.54 billion in the period, meeting Street forecasts.

Carvana. shares have more than doubled since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $191.30, more than doubling in the last 12 months.
