RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) _ Casella Waste Systems Inc. (CWST) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $9.1 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Rutland, Vermont-based company said it had net income of 19 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 21 cents per share.

The results matched Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 21 cents per share.

The provider of garbage-disposal and recycling services posted revenue of $193.6 million in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $193.1 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $31.7 million, or 66 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $743.3 million.

Casella expects full-year revenue in the range of $800 million to $815 million.

Casella shares have increased 20% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $55.12, a rise of 57% in the last 12 months.
