Castellana Properties, the specialist retail property acquisition, management and refurbishment firm listed on the BME Growth, has opened a new 4,100 sqm Primark store in the Bahía Sur shopping centre. The new Primark store is the last in a long line of new openings at the centre and marks the end of the renovation and investment plan that the company first began to roll out in 2019. As part of the plan, the centre has welcomed a new Yelmo Premium Cinema, an Espaço Casa, the largest Zara store in the province of Cádiz and a Lefties. Castellana Properties has invested a total of over EUR17 million in upgrading Bahía Sur, bringing 20 new establishments to the number one shopping centre destination in the province of Cádiz.

The investments made by Castellana Properties in Bahía Sur have breathed a new lease of life into the shopping centre, improving the overall user experience, enhancing the retail mix and clearly adding to the appeal of what was already a go-to destination for the people of Cádiz. The footfall and sales figures for the last few months leave no room for doubt as to the success of the upgrade. So much so, that the shopping centre is now performing even better than before the pandemic, with visitor numbers up 16.4%, 13.3% and 9.4% in October, November and December 2021 compared to the same months in 2019.

The centre now offers an even more extensive range of leisure, dining and shopping options and the latest in terms of what's new in the sector. Last summer's Bahía Sound festival is a perfect example of this. The annual music event was home to Spain's first marketplace thanks to the delivery service made possible by Bahía Sur - which allowed all the centre's F&B operators to offer their services to hungry concert goers enjoying the Bahía ¡En Vivo! event.

The centre's commitment to sustainability and the environment is also plain to see from the activities it organises in and to raise awareness of the national park that surrounds the centre, with initiatives including Aventuras de la Bahía and Bahía Sur Wild - a space offering an exciting combination of adventure and outdoor pursuits.
