CHICAGO (AP) _ Century Aluminum Co. (CENX) on Thursday reported a loss of $35.5 million in its fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Chicago-based company said it had a loss of 40 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 32 cents per share.

The aluminum producer posted revenue of $389.1 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $123.3 million, or $1.38 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.61 billion.

Century shares have increased 14% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $12.56, more than doubling in the last 12 months.
