Charles Stanley has promoted recent recruit and former Brown Shipley chief executive Ian Sackfield as managing director of investment management services. Sackfield had joined the company as head of its branch network a year ago, having left Brown Shipley altogether in March 2020, two years after stepping down as CEO to focus on his clients. He replaces Peter Kelk, who became head of Charles Stanley’s investment division in 2019, after the exit of former division boss Gary Teper in a group-wide restructure. He will report to CEO Paul Abberley. On joining, Sackfield took on responsibility for business development and productivity as well as branch oversight and was appointed to its executive committee.
