DELAY IN DESPATCH OF CIRCULAR

Reference is made to the announcement of China Power International Development Limited (the "Company") dated 13 April 2021 in relation to the Transactions for the first phase of the project for development and construction of an offshore wind power plant with an installed capacity of 300MW in Shandong Province, the PRC (the "Announcement"). Unless otherwise specified, all capitalized terms used herein shall have the same meanings as those defined in the Announcement.

As stated in the Announcement, a circular (the "Circular") containing, among other things, (i) details of the Project Agreements; (ii) a letter from the Independent Board Committee; (iii) a letter from the Independent Financial Adviser; and (iv) a notice of the general meeting of the Company was expected to be despatched to its shareholders on or around 4 May 2021.

As additional time is required for the Company to compile certain information for inclusion in the Circular, it is anticipated that the despatch of the Circular will be postponed to a date on or before 17 May 2021.
