  • On June 28, Juha Sipilä, the Prime Minister of Finland, Mrs. Marja Rislakki, the Finnish Ambassador to China, and Paivi Leiwo, Chairman of Oilon Group, were accompanied by representatives from Dalian Government and the European Department of the Foreign Ministry of China to visit a power plant project undertaken by China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Corp., Ltd. (CSCEC 3rd Bureau) in Dalian.

The project uses vanadium redox batteries to reserve electricity and regulate the peak. The Prime Minister was briefed about access approach to the grid and coordination strategy across the grid. Speaking highly of on-site construction and security, he added that thanks to the high-level communication between the two countries, and development of bilateral relationship and cooperation, Finland would like to implement agreements reached between heads of state of the two countries and promote reciprocal cooperation in such fields as smart city, environmental protection, clean energy, food, and digital information.
The aforementioned power plant is the first large-sized national demonstration project of chemical energy storage approved by the National Energy Administration. It is also the world's largest and China's only power plant using chemicals to story energy and regulate the peak. This project will significantly press ahead with the energy storage industry and impose far-reaching influence on the global landscape of energy storage. (from CSCEC 3rd Bureau)
