Accumulative Power Generation of Xiluodu - Xiangjiaba Cascade Hydropower Plants exceeds 900 TWh

2023-09-15

As of September 9th, the cumulative electricity generation of Xiluodu - Xiangjiaba Cascade Hydropower Plants on the lower reaches of the Jinsha River has exceeded 900 TWh. This is equivalent to saving over 270 million tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 740 million tons. A continuous supply of clean electricity is being delivered to the East and South China regions, effectively ensuring the electricity needs for production and daily life in power distribution areas. <_o3a_p>

These two power stations have 26 hydro-generating units with the total installed capacity of 20,260 MW. Their average annual electricity generation over the years exceeds 94 TWh. Serving as major power supply hubs for the national West-East Power Transmission Project, they play a crucial role in optimizing China's energy structure, promoting harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, and driving local economic and social development. <_o3a_p>
