CIC SELECTED AS PREFERRED PARTNER FOR NEW PROJECT

The South Australian Governments Renewal SA and the Department for Manufacturing, Industry, Trade, Resources and Energy (DMITRE) has announced CIC Australia Limited (CIC) as the preferred proponent for the redevelopment of the residential section of Tonsley.
Minister for Housing & Urban Development Tom Koutsantonis, noted the quality of CIC's submission and its ability to deliver the South Australian Government's vision for the development of the residential and mixed use precincts at Tonsley.
Mr Koutsantonis said a key factor in selecting CIC was its track record in delivering innovative built form, housing diversity and affordable housing delivery at its award winning Lightsview Joint Venture with Renewal SA.
CIC, Renewal SA & DMITRE will now commence work on developing the detailed project masterplan. This work will lead to a comprehensive development agreement being entered into between the parties. The terms of the final agreement will be negotiated according to a detailed development program being finalised in the coming weeks.
Tonsley is a 61 hectare site located 10 km south of Adelaide central business district and situated within the City of Marion. The South Australian Government is transforming Tonsley into a collaborative and high-value industry, education and residential precinct. Redevelopment of the site will deliver an exemplar interconnected and intelligent mixed use precinct that integrates industry, education, training, research, residential living and

community amenities. It will be supported by low carbon and climate resilient infrastructure, technology and systems that will demonstrate innovation and excellence in urban design, governance and delivery models.
The Tonsley residential and mixed use precinct comprises an area of 11.067 hectares which at completion will deliver approximately 1,000 dwellings plus mixed use retail and commercial facilities.
