The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 16 cents per share.

The movie theater owner posted revenue of $638.9 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $619.8 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $188.2 million, or $1.34 per share. Revenue was reported as $3.07 billion.
