Citi announced that Tim Monger, the bank's CFO Asia Pacific, is the new head of North and East Asia cluster. Amol Gupte, former Asean head and CEO Singapore, is his peer for South Asia and Asean. Amol Gupte, who has been with Citi for more than 34 years, most latterly as Asean head and CEO Singapore, the new head of South Asian and Asean (SAA) cluster.

Monger joined Citi in London in 2017 as head of productivity, after almost 17 years at the Boston Consulting Group where he headed the UK financial institutions practice. He moved to Hong Kong in 2019 when he became interim CEO Asia Pacific, and was made CFO Apac in 2019. In that role, he helped set the bank's strategic agenda and guided its investment priorities.

Last year, he lead the bank's strategy for divesting the consumer banking units across Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Gupte started his career with Citi's consumer bank in India in 1988. In 2003, he moved to London to join the bank's treasury services unit, and in 2007, was promoted to treasury and trade solutions head, North America.

He moved to Hong Kong in 2012 to be treasury and trade solutions head, Asia. In 2016, he was promoted to Asean head and CEO Singapore. Last week, Citi Private Bank's Julie Koo has been promoted to global head of third-party manager solutions for Citi Global Wealth Investments.
