Casan will invest BRL 1.7 billion ($553 million) in water supply and sewage collection and treatment projects between 2015 and 2018. A total of 47 projects are planned in 31 cities and towns. The works will benefit some 963,000 residents.

The metropolitan region of state capital Florianopolis is earmarked for some BRL 586 million of investments. Budgeted at BRL 454 million, the main project involves constructing a municipal water supply and sewer system. The western region of the state will receive BRL 320 million.

A total of BRL 204 million in works are already in the bidding phase and the project involves building a water supply system from the Chapecozinho river. Some BRL 299 million will be invested in the north, of which BRL 63.6 million will go towards building the Rio de Sul sewer system, while the south and Serra regions have been earmarked for BRL 222 million, which includes a project that is already receiving bids. Priced at BRL 30 million, it calls for building a sewer system in the town of Forquilhinha.
