De La Rue is pleased to announce the award of a five year contract with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for the supply of a Digital Tax Stamp (DTS) solution. Working as a joint venture partner with leading Ghanaian print company Buck Press, De La Rue will implement their DTS solution to assist the GRA to increase tax revenues and fight against illicit trade. The solution is based on the DLR Certify™ software platform working together with secure tax stamps that each include a unique code. This is being implemented across a wide range of products, both domestically manufactured and imported into Ghana, including cigarettes, liquor, beer, soft drinks and water.

Commenting, Andrew Gilbert, Global Sales Director, Government Revenue Solutions said 'We are proud to have been chosen by the GRA as their partners to implement this important national scheme. Together with Buck Press, whom De La Rue has worked with in Ghana for many years, we have begun implementation of our proven DTS solution, customised to meet the specific requirements of the GRA. This contract builds on our long and successful history of supplying security products in Ghana and more widely across Africa. With the financial crisis caused by the current COVID-19 pandemic bringing economic challenges to countries across globe, excise tax revenues have never been more important and we look forward to working together with the GRA and the government of Ghana to secure and increase tax revenues during these very difficult times'.
