VeriChip Corporation (the "Company" or "VeriChip") (NASDAQ:CHIP), a provider of RFID systems for healthcare and patient-related needs, announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Xmark Corporation, has installed its Hugs infant protection system at Baylor Medical Center at Frisco, in Frisco, Texas.

Baylor Medical Center at Frisco joins a number of other Baylor facilities that have recently chosen the Hugs system, including Baylor Medical Center at Irving, which purchased the system in March of this year, and Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine, which selected Hugs in September 2006. With this sale, six birthing hospitals in the Baylor Health Care System, based in Dallas, Texas, will now use the Hugs system.

Daniel A. Gunther, President and CEO of Xmark, commented, ?This most recent sale to a Baylor facility highlights the dominance of Xmark in infant protection. In addition to the fact that, nationally, one out of every three birthing hospitals has an Xmark infant protection system installed, we have achieved overwhelming market share in many regional markets like Dallas-Fort Worth.?

Baylor Health Care System is a not-for-profit network of hospitals, and one of the largest providers of health care services in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. The hospitals in the Baylor Health Care System purchased the Hugs infant protection system through Xmark's authorized dealer Hawk Security, an Interface company.
