Dongwon F&B Co., Ltd. (KOSE:A049770) and StarKist Co. signed an agreement to acquire 12.5% stake in Silver Bay Seafoods, L.L.C for $20 million on November 10, 2014. Starkist is investing $12 million to secure a 7.5% stake and Dongwon F&B Co is investing $8 million for a 5% stake. Ernst & Young acted as accountant to Dongwon F&B and StarKist. KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc. acted as financial advisor to the seller in the transaction.

The General Food segment is mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of canned tuna, canned seafood, sauces, bread crumbs, beverages and frozen products. The Seasoning Distribution segment is mainly engaged in the manufacture and distribution of spice products and other spice products and sauces products. The Feed segment mainly provides feeds for poultry, swine and cattle. The Other segment is engaged in the product agency.
