Downer has been awarded a three-year contract with BHP to deliver sustaining capital projects across the Western Australian Iron Ore assets.

The contract covers structural, mechanical, electrical, fabrication, rail, corrosion control and communication across BHP's assets in the Pilbara Region, including all mines, rail corridor and port operations. The contract includes the option of two one-year extensions and builds on an existing agreement between Downer and BHP which was signed in 2020.

The award demonstrates Downer's commitment to continuing to deliver services across Australia's critical economic infrastructure and cements our relationship with a major customer, says Pat Burke, Head of Downer's Facilities & Asset Services division.

"Downer has operated on BHP sites since 1968. We're extremely pleased to continue to partner with this important customer to enable their service delivery, while supporting their efforts in the energy transition," he said.
