The new plant could be operational in the second quarter of 2021

DS Smith Tecnicarton will reinforce its presence in Morocco with the opening of a new production center in Kenitra. This new plant could be operational in the second quarter of 2021 and would be aimed at developing packaging solutions in different materials, both for vehicle manufacturers and for the automotive auxiliary industry.

With this installation, DS Smith Tecnicarton continues with its commitment to the North African country as a platform to generate interesting business opportunities. Since 2014, the company has a factory in Tangier from which it offers multi-material solutions, specially designed for the automotive industry, such as handling packaging and plastic containers that allow transit between plants, as well as cardboard containers that allow access to the assembly line.

This plant also has a textile handling center to develop the projects that require interior fittings and a design area that, although it was initially closely linked to the Valencia Design Center, has gained autonomy in recent years and increased its capacities with the incorporation of a new plotter.

As Antonio Cebrián, Commercial Director of DS Smith Tecnicarton, explains, 'the company has long been clear about the potential of Morocco to generate new business opportunities, since it is an increasingly relevant industrial center. 'Our presence there contributes to higher levels of competitiveness and has also allowed us to diversify into other sectors, such as aeronautics', he points out.
