E Ink Holdings, "E Ink" (8069.TW), the leading innovator of electronic ink technology and QuirkLogic Inc., a provider of workplace productivity technology to help teams spark and grow big ideas, today announced the expansion of their existing partnership into new markets and geographies. The two companies have collaborated to create the first real-time ideation solution named QuillaTM, which was launched earlier this year and will be generally available in July.

Many of today’s companies, from the largest corporations to emerging startups, utilize writing surfaces like whiteboards during meetings to develop strategy, capture brainstorming ideas and foster team collaboration. After the meeting, this information is usually captured on someone’s phone camera, but is not always circulated to the team and can be hard to read and virtually impossible to edit. Enter Quilla, a technology solution that looks and writes like paper, yet is portable and WiFi enabled. It has full digital capabilities from document storage, to editing, to the sharing of content in real time across the world for encrypted and secure team collaboration. Users can now meet, start a new document or pull up a previous session, update and make changes, and see immediate edits from team members in another location. In addition, at 24lbs, each device is lightweight and can easily be moved between meeting spaces, set up with a snap-on wall mount, an easy clamp portable stand, or a simple bracket.

“Our strong partnership with QuirkLogic resulted in Quilla, which has been extremely well received in the market,” said Harit Doshi, General Manager, Signage Business, of E Ink. “We are jointly exploring new devices and markets to expand our reach worldwide.”

To enable this innovative ideation solution, QuirkLogic collaborated with E Ink to build the world’s largest ePaper display at a 42” diagonal. The two companies also worked together on building unique hardware features, including a quick response touch sensor. E Ink and QuirkLogic are now jointly marketing the product in North America and plan further expansion into new markets and geographies.

“Quilla is the result of three-plus years of hard work by dedicated teams that created many, never-before-available hardware and software features,” said Nashir Samanani, QuirkLogic’s founder and CEO. “Our deep collaboration with E Ink resulted in the creation of a unique and valuable ideation solution that the market is seeking.”

QuirkLogic’s Quilla will be on display at InfoComm 2017 in Orlando, Florida from June 14 – 16 in the exhibit hall at booth #3781, where visitors can try it for themselves. QuirkLogic is also now taking orders for Quilla and will begin shipping to customers from July 2017. The solution is available individually or in packs of three and five digital writing devices.
