In order to meet the challenges of the different uses of the new training campus and to carry out this ambitious project,
The project consists of 2 separate plots. A first of 20,000 m-2 including an 'accommodation' center of 5,500 m-2 with 266 rooms and 750 m-2 of catering area and a 'training' center with 3,800 m-2 of training rooms, collaborative spaces and offices. The second plot of 10,000 m-2 has a technical hall of 2,500 m-2 next to a railway platform with reconstructed tracks
Another crucial aspect, the building in its design and construction had to respect the environment by being certified E3C1 label. Objective achieved since it is now classified as
The structure was entirely made of reinforced concrete. The difference between the 'accommodation' and 'training' parts lies in the framework. On the accommodation side, the frame is made of wood while the part dedicated to technical learning spaces is embellished with a metal frame, covered with a cover and metal cladding. These games of materials anchor the identity of the whole in an imaginary specific to railway activity.
The work for this project lasted less than a year and a half and required 28,000 hours of own production, and 18,000 hours of integration, with the aim of encouraging the return to employment of people in professional difficulty.
