SMBs are an important part of the economy, contributing about 60 percent to the UAE's non-oil GDP. Nearly 100,000 SMBs are estimated to set up shop in the country over the next three years.

Despite the launch of several government-led initiatives designed to support SMBs, which make up almost 92% of registered companies, there is a gap in the funding available to this segment. On the connectivity front, SMBs increasingly need to manage their operations effectively and efficiently and maximize their cash flows. High-speed broadband connectivity and transparent communication costs are crucial requirements for increased business productivity and profitability.

Salvador Anglada, Chief Business Officer, Etisalat, said at the signing event, "Etisalat is committed to help businesses grow. We are excited to partner with Aseel Islamic Finance in offering our SMB customers a power-packed proposition that addresses their financial and connectivity requirements in one go. It will not only help reduce the burden of added operational costs, but will also provide our business customers reliable Internet connectivity, simplicity of use and value-for-money, a key requirement that most SMBs and start-ups seek from their service provider."

Fatima Qasimi, CEO of Aseel Islamic Finance, said, "We are always striving to deliver innovative products and services which will help SMBs to grow their businesses and the Platinum Aseel Business Credit Card does exactly that. We?re pleased to ally with Etisalat to deliver a unique proposition which will allow SMBs to maximise business revenue, enhance their cash flow management and reduce their connectivity costs."

With Aseel's Business Credit Card, SMBs enjoy a range of services at a fixed monthly fee and owners can access discounts to reduce business costs on hotels, cars, rentals, courier facilities and other items. Cardholders can also benefit from regular online statements, internet banking, SMS, ATM, and Debt Capital Marketing services, alongside a grace payment period of up to 51 days to support their business cycles and operations. The card also features a points system, which allows SMB owners to convert points into cash on every Aseel anniversary year.
