Lucerne, 25 March 2010 - The Board of Directors of Emmi AG has voted Fritz Wyss, Delegate of the Board of Directors from 1992-2003 and Chairman from 2003-2009, as its Honorary Chairman. Fritz Wyss' visionary management played a crucial role in the development of the Emmi Group and he is regarded as the architect of Switzerland's largest dairy group.

As Delegate of the Board of Directors, Fritz Wyss initiated the founding of Emmi AG in 1992 and, over the following years, built up the regional dairy association into a national, listed company with an international reach. During his term of office as Chairman, he set the course for an internationally-oriented Emmi Group with strong Swiss roots. Starting from sales of CHF 496 million in 1992, the Group's continual growth - always based on sound financing - led to sales increasing to CHF 2.6 billion in 2009.

In recognition of his exceptional contribution to the development of the Emmi Group and his visionary leadership, the Board of Directors has now voted Fritz Wyss as its Honorary Chairman. In strategic matters, the Board of Directors greatly appreciates being able to benefit from his extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the sector.
