Peab signed a contract with the Gothenburg Port Authority for the first phase, which includes a feasibility study, design and planning of the update of Kustkaj 2.0 at the Energy Port in Gothenburg where Eurocon, which is part of Rejlers, is responsible for the process part. The Port of Gothenburg, has engaged Peab in a collaboration agreement to set the framework for the Kustkaj 2.0 project, which involves a new and upgraded quay facility for loading and unloading liquid energy products. The project will include geotechnical improvements, new foundation, demolition and new construction of 300 meters of quay and in some parts also new process layout and equipment.

Eurocon will be responsible for the process part, which includes investigating how the process is affected during construction. The Energy Port in Gothenburg is important for the energy supply throughout the country. Around 2,200 tankers call at the port every year and 22.3 million tonnes of energy products are handled.

During the construction of the new coastal quay, ships will be able to dock and ongoing operations will be able to continue. The project has a strong environmental focus and sustainability permeates all operations to minimize environmental impact in order to achieve both Peab and the Gothenburg Port Authority's environmental goals. Feasibility study and pre-planning will start in fourth quarter of 2023 and construction work is planned to start in first quarter of 2026 and last until first quarter of 2031.
