Rosseti FGC UES implements Yakutia's first remote control projects in Power of Siberia electricity supply scheme

01/17/2022

The technology has been implemented at 220 kV Nagorny and Amga switching stations built by Rosseti FGC UES to connect compressor stations of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline to the Unified National Power Grid (UNPG). This project has been carried out jointly with the System Operator.

Remote control can significantly improve the reliability of power supply by reducing the time of operational switching and minimizing the risk of human error. Operation of switching devices and earthing disconnectors of switch points is monitored from two points: the Grid Control Center of the Amur MES and the dispatching center of the Yakutsk Regional Dispatch Center.

The introduction of high-tech functions for managing power center equipment is one of the priorities of the digital transformation of the UNPG. Similar projects are underway at facilities equipped with digital communications, automation, and modern equipment.

State-of-the-art domestic automated process control systems, microprocessor-based relay protection complexes, and smart power metering were introduced at the 220 kV Amga and Nagorny switch stations, which were built in 2019-2020.
