FLUGHAFEN ZÜRICH AG In April 2024, 2,620,051 passengers passed through Zurich Airport, corresponding to an increase of 7% compared to last year. Passenger levels are 96% of those reached in April 2019.
After the increased passenger volume on the Easter weekend could already be managed smoothly, the spring holidays also went very well operationally. The spring holidays are one of the busiest times at Zurich Airport. In April, the number of local passengers was 1,861,331. Transfer passengers amounted to 29%, equal to 754,332 passengers.
Year on year, air traffic movements increased by 7% to 21,967 take offs or landings. A monthly comparison shows that air traffic movements are at 94% of the 2019 level. The average passenger per movement figure decreased to 134 (-2% vs. previous year). The average seat load factor was at 80% (-1 percentage point vs. previous year).
A total of 34,740 tons of freight were transported at Zurich Airport during the month of April. This led to an increase of 10% in freight volume compared to last year. Compared to April 2019, freight volume decreased by 7%.
