GE Vernova has announced that Invenergy's Rusutsu wind energy center in the city of Rusutsu, Japan, is now operational.

The wind energy center will have a capacity of around 63 MW and is expected to reduce annual CO2 emissions by around 64,000 tonnes.

The site is powered by 15 GE Vernova 4.2-117 wind turbines that have been optimized for the extreme environments, including wind conditions, seismic loads and complex sites of the Japanese market.

This is Invenergy's first onshore wind project in Japan and Asia.

The Rusutu Wind Energy Center is one of many GE Vernova-powered projects scheduled to begin operations in 2024, and demonstrates our commitment to meeting customer expectations in Japan, which is a priority country in Asia," commented Steve Swift, Commercial Director of GE Vernova's onshore wind business.
