Royal Gate Inc. announced that it will receive a round of funding on October 13, 2013. The transaction will include participation from new investor, Innovation Network Corporation of Japan, which will invest ¥1,000,000,000. Innovation Network Corporation of Japan will acquire minority stake in the company. Shareholders of the company, including Mizuho Capital Co., may make an additional investment.
On October 15, 2013, the company announced that it has signed agreement with Innovation Network Corporation of Japan. The company will raise series A round of funding from venture capital firms, new investors and other existing shareholders.
In 2013, the company received ¥1,000,000,000 in its first tranche.
On January 31, 2014, Royal Gate Inc. closed the transaction. The company has received ¥1,380,000,000 in total funding from the transaction. The company signed an investment agreement with Innovation Network Corporation of Japan, existing investor, NTT Docomo Ventures, Inc., individual investor, Keiji Umemura, and other investors including, Credit Saison Co., Ltd., GMO Payment Gateway, Inc., Toyota Finance Corporation, Mizuho Capital Co., Ltd., and Mitsubishi UFJ Capital Co., Ltd. The investors have invested in the transaction. The company has raised part of series A1 round of equity funding earlier and has now raised series A2 round.
