The award granted for the green transformation of the FAMUR Group, initiated by the announcement of the company's new strategic directions in May 2021, was presented during the EURO Power and OZE Power conferences. The "Leaders in Energy" initiative aims to recognize projects implemented with innovative solutions and with a management strategy that translates into energy efficiency.

The other nominated projects in the "Investment of the Year" category were: the signing of an agreement between KGHM and the American NuScale Power and the acquisition of Edison Energia by Polenergia.

In May 2021, FAMUR, a technology holding company providing solutions for the energy, mining, and transport industries, announced its decision to change its strategic directions and pursue projects in the area of renewable energy sources (RES). The green transformation of the FAMUR Group assumes that the company will aim to achieve about 70 percent of its revenues from sources unrelated to steam coal by the end of 2024. The construction of a holding company investing, among others, in the area of renewable energy sources began with combining resources and competences of a leading entity on the Polish market of renewable energy sources - Projekt Solartechnik (P+S) with TDJ and the FAMUR Group. As a result of the investment, an entity concentrating projects and competences necessary for the implementation of plans in the field of PV was created. The advantages and broad development capital contributed to the joint venture by FAMUR and TDJ, as well as the unique competence and experience of the PST team, provide a unique basis for rapid and effective scaling.

"Thanks to the efforts of the entire team, in less than a year after the start of the green transformation of our company, we can already boast of considerable achievements. The award is a confirmation that the experts of the energy market value our activities. We will consistently pursue the implementation of modified strategic directions, aiming for a strong position in the still emerging renewable energy sector. This is an area that, in the coming years, will constitute an important driver of development of the energy market in Poland, and for us - an important element of diversification of our business," says Mirosław Bendzera, President of the Management Board of FAMUR S.A.

By consolidating the potential of three companies in less than a year, FAMUR S.A. currently has in its portfolio PV projects of approximately 1.5 GW and is consistently developing its offer of services in the field of construction and implementation of large-scale photovoltaic installations and PV solutions for the B2B segment. Photovoltaic farms with a capacity of approximately 134.4 MW are under construction, connection conditions have been granted to projects with a total capacity exceeding 500 MW, and projects with a capacity of 1317 MW are already planned at the next stages of development.

"Thanks to the cooperation of Projekt Solartechnik, FAMUR Group and TDJ, we can achieve our business goals on a wider scale than before. The combination of our potentials and competencies allows us to more effectively develop the photovoltaic sector in Poland - an increasingly important branch of the energy market. I also hope that the experience and support of our partners will contribute to the expansion into other European markets," says Maciej Marcjanik, President of the Management Board and co-owner of Projekt Solartechnik.

FAMUR Group was nominated in two categories in the Leaders in Energy competition. In addition to "Investment of the Year" also as "Industry Solution Provider", for the creation of the innovative SIGMA (Service in Grid Monitoring Area) room.

The Service in Grid Monitoring Area (SIGMA) room has been in operation in the Katowice headquarters of the FAMUR Group since September 2021. Since then, it has been used to provide training in the use of equipment and machinery manufactured by the company. Multi-purpose equipment enables quicker diagnostics and technical support for customers in various industries, resulting in field service optimisation. This is an important optimisation - it allows to significantly reduce service time by eliminating the need to travel from the headquarters to the place of operation of the machines, which sometimes took several days.

As part of the "Leaders in Energy" competition, awards were presented in a total of six categories. In addition to the Investment of the Year, the categories included: Person of the Year; Manager of the Year; Manufacturer of the Year; Innovation of the Year and Industry Solution Provider. The EURO Power and OZE Power conference took place on April 7-8 in Warsaw.
