BOSTON (AP) _ Haemonetics Corp. (HAE) on Tuesday reported fiscal third-quarter profit of $23.2 million.

On a per-share basis, the Boston-based company said it had net income of 45 cents. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and restructuring costs, were 84 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 75 cents per share.

The provider blood management systems for health care providers and blood collectors posted revenue of $259.8 million in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $266.7 million.

Haemonetics expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.45 to $2.55 per share.
