(Alliance News) - HeiQ PLC on Tuesday announced the appointment of Robert Van de Kerkhof as chair, with effect from April 1.

Esther Dale Kolb, the incumbent chair of the Swiss-based materials and textiles company is to step down to pursue other interests after nearly four years in the role.

Kerkhof, who was appointed non-executive director of HeiQ in January, has more than three decades of management experience across the textile industry.

The departing Kolb said: "I am pleased to have played a part in recruiting Robert and welcome him as the new chair. His extensive experience and proven leadership in sustainability and textiles will be invaluable as HeiQ continues its mission of innovating and disrupting the industry. As I retire from my role, I am confident that Robert will lead the company to new heights, and I look forward to seeing HeiQ's future successes."

Shares in HeiQ closed 4.8% higher at 9.20 pence each in London on Tuesday.
