Hokkaido Gas Co., Ltd. (TSE:9534) acquired 19.83% stake in Hoku Netsu Corporation from Development Bank of Japan Inc., Investment Arm for approximately ¥690 million on May 17, 2013. For the year ended March 31, 2013, Hoku Netsu reported revenues of ¥4 billion, total assets of ¥9.7 billion, operating loss of ¥52 million, net assets of ¥5.6 billion and net loss of ¥76 million.

HOKKAIDO GAS CO., LTD. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the gas, energy-related, and electric power businesses. The Company operates through three business segments. Gas segment is engaged in the manufacture, supply and sale of gas in Sapporo, Otaru, Hakodate, Chitose, Kitami and Muroran. It is also engaged in the shipping and transportation of liquefied natural gas (LNG), and security and inspection related to gas supply. Energy-related segment is engaged in the sale of simple gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) mainly in Sapporo and Hakodate.
